Software Engineering:

  • For those more in-tune with the more technical side of game development, we wanted to share some insight on our time planning out the game. One of the biggest changes from our initial prototype was how the laser worked. Initial, each object had its own code to create a laser based on collision from an existing laser. In an effort to optimize this, we decided to use inheritance to our advantage. This way, we only needed one main script that each object could inherit the ability to make a laser from and then do their slight adjustments.
