Dev Log #1
>>> April 7th, 2021 <<<
Story and Setting:
Snow No Mercy! is what we, the dev team, like to call a stealthy Third Person Healer. In this competitive battle royale, you will strategically sneak around as a melting snowman trying to prevent the other snowmen from melting. The first snowman to melt will be declared the winner. You must find the perfect balance between hiding and healing your enemies. Why would you want to melt first you ask? It's simple really! As a snowman, you've worked so hard this winter and it's time to head back to Snowman Valhalla of course. The first one back is crowned king until next winter. So get on out there and show them no mercy, or rather, SNOW NO MERCY!!!
Game Mechanic:
Snow No Mercy! plays like many other shooters in the genre. You can move in any direction and aim/shoot using the mouse. The camera will be placed to give the player a 3rd person view of the action. The catch is that your shots heal other players. As a snowman, you want to melt first. To make sure the others don't melt first, you will throw snowballs at them to prevent them from melting by cooling them off. As time in the match progresses, the sun will begin to rise and increase the melting rate of each player. There will also be obstacles preventing you from melting such as a snow cloud that will heal you if you stand under it and a snowplow that will send a wave of snow onto the arena. Summer wisps will also appear randomly throughout the match to melt a certain amount of health away.
Art Assets:
We do not have much to show as of now, but stay tuned to see our development process. For now, enjoy this early design concept for the game's snowman.
Game Expo:
Lastly, we'd like to invite you to watch us present the game the day it is launched: April 23rd!! We currently do not have the link to the twitch stream but come and vote for Snow No Mercy! during the Florida Polytechnic University Spring 2021 Game Expo.
